“This year, we have seen the longest, sustained growth of people reaching out in our 24-year history. Sexual violence affects almost every family in America—and that’s why it also takes every one of us to end it,” said RAINN president Scott Berkowitz. “We are grateful to the countless volunteers, donors, corporate sponsors, and government partners who support RAINN and make this work possible.”

The redesigned program features definitions, helpful information about coping mechanisms, practical relaxation exercises, and links to resources and referrals for on-going support.

Pete Church is a member of RAINN’s National Leadership Council and one of the generous donors who has pledged to match contributions RAINN receives through December 31. Pete shared why he believes sexual violence is a critical issue, why he’s excited to team up with RAINN, and how the match campaign can make a difference.

Each month, RAINN features a member of its National Leadership Council (NLC). The NLC is a group of dedicated individuals who have shown their commitment to RAINN’s mission of supporting survivors and ending sexual violence. This month we checked in with comedian, survivor, and artist Cameron Esposito.

Between Thursday, the day of the hearing, and Sunday, RAINN saw a 338 percent increase in hotline traffic. “History shows us that when high-profile allegations such as these are in the news it often causes others to reach out too. This story has clearly resonated with survivors, and has led thousands to reach out for help for the first time,” said RAINN president Scott Berkowitz.

Hispanic Heritage Month starts September 15, and it is a great time to celebrate the heritage of the 40 million Americans who primarily speak Spanish. In honor of this month, RAINN wants to make sure it continues to provide the support and information that Spanish-speaking survivors in these communities deserve year-round.

Those looking to support critical sexual assault prevention and response programs can join a network of volunteer supporters from across the country who are passionate about helping survivors of sexual violence.
