Safe Helpline is working to make self-care more accessible to military survivors of sexual assault with resources that can help survivors in their wellness journey.

The event will feature inspiring performances from Broadway and beyond—including Kristin Chenoweth, Cheyenne Jackson, Jewel, Leslie Odom Jr., Kelli O’Hara, Ashley Park, Billy Porter, and Vanessa Williams—with special appearances from singer-songwriter Tori Amos, actress Annaleigh Ashford, actress Connie Britton, and others. Voices for RAINN will be held live on Monday, December 7 at 8 p.m. ET on Facebook and YouTube.

The RAINN Speakers Bureau is a network of more than 4,000 survivors of sexual violence who volunteer to share their stories. Members across the United States share their experiences through the media, community events, artistic projects, and more. “Joining the Speakers Bureau made me feel like I was helping others as well as myself,” says Speakers Bureau member Rebecca Courtright. “By using my voice, I feel I have regained my true path to help others and create a better future for all victims of sexual violence.”

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving. It’s a moment when individuals and organizations join together to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity and assist causes near and dear to them. At RAINN, #GivingTuesday is a celebration of hope—especially this year. "I support RAINN’s vital work because they bring hope and healing to survivors of sexual violence today, and every day,” said Tori Amos, survivor, longtime supporter, and RAINN #GivingTuesday ambassador. “Now more than ever, we must come together to ensure that help is available, in the moment it’s needed most.”

For many parents, going to court to fight for custody of their children is unimaginably difficult, and for those who are seeking custody because of child abuse or domestic violence, it can also be the deciding factor for the health and safety of them and their child.“The way children disclose or react when around an abuser just looks different than what an adult might do,” said Cooper. “If judges and others aren’t trained in looking out for these signs, they could be condemning a child to full, unsupervised custody with a parent who is physically and sexually abusing them.”

Visitors to RAINN’s website can now find Spanish language information on supporting LGBTQ survivors, sexual assault of men and boys, sexual abuse by helping professionals, detailed information on reporting for teens, and many other topics.
