RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Online Hotline was chosen as a finalist for the 2014 CLASSY Awards for its innovation in helping sexual assault survivors. The CLASSY Awards are the largest philanthropic awards show in the nation. They are sponsored by Stay Classy, a technology company that provides an online fundraising platform for the philanthropic community.
Classy named RAINN and International Medical Corps as the finalists in the category of Disaster Relief and Public Safety. The top prize was awarded to IMC at an event this weekend in San Diego.
“We’re proud that the Online Hotline was the web’s first secure crisis support hotline and has helped 200,000 survivors with their recovery,” said Chelsea Bowers, RAINN’s development director, who attended the awards. “We’re honored that Stay Classy named the Online Hotline as a finalist for this prestigious award, and hope that it helps spread the word to other survivors in search of help.”
