RAINN Announces National Partnership with Alpha Chi Omega

RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, is proud to welcome Alpha Chi Omega as its first ever national sorority partner.

Alpha Chi Omega was founded in 1885. Its founders’ vision has grown to include the women’s Fraternity, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, and the National Housing Corporation. Together, they serve more than 200,000 members in more than 140 collegiate chapters and 180 alumnae chapters nationwide.

RAINN will help bolster Alpha Chi Omega’s long standing dedication to preventing sexual assault and supporting survivors. This partnership will focus on promoting collaborative awareness campaigns and producing educational materials for Alpha Chi Omega members and alumnae.

“We’re excited to expand our reach and grow our campus network,” says RAINN’s campus programs manager, Nancy Amestoy. “Alpha Chi Omega’s values promote a lifelong dedication to leadership and service. We look forward to supporting their membership in this mission.”

This partnership is a historic addition to RAINN’s robust portfolio of campus work. RAINN’s other engagements with college communities include a national partnership with Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, collaboration with large-scale collegiate organizations, and an annual awareness day, RAINN Day. RAINN also operates the Prevention Navigator, a free online resource that helps colleges find and review sexual assault prevention programs.

The rape kit backlog is currently one of the biggest obstacles to prosecuting perpetrators of sexual violence.
