RAINN’s Consulting Services Help Organizations Improve Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Programs

For more than 20 years, RAINN has worked to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. As the leading authority on sexual violence, RAINN is comprised of experts in victim services, education and communications, public policy, and technology. With the renewed focus on sexual violence in the news, a record number of survivors are turning to RAINN’s victim services programs for help, but RAINN also works behind the scenes to help organizations implement policies to address sexual violence.

RAINN’s Consulting Services team works with clients across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, nationally and internationally, to develop and strengthen targeted sexual assault prevention and response programs. Clients include organizations from a wide range of industries, including the federal government; institutions of higher education and boarding schools; hospitality and amusement; and health and wellness.

“We are dedicated to working with organizations to better their practices related to the education about, and response to, sexual violence. Our goal is to meet each organization’s unique needs,” says Kati Lake, vice president of consulting services at RAINN. “We’ve worked with clients at all stages of the process—from developing sexual misconduct policies and conducting training to assessing well-established response programs. We’ll meet you wherever you are.”

To do this, RAINN offers a variety of specialized services to meet an organization’s unique needs. They include program assessments; general consulting services; hotline services; and both in-person and online education and training. Using a victim-centered, trauma-informed approach, RAINN conducts prevention and response program assessments based on leading research, regulatory guidance, and state and federal laws to evaluate program strengths and weaknesses.

Most recently, RAINN began working with Massage Envy to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the company’s policies and programs related to client safety. Other clients include Royal Caribbean Cruises and Carnival Cruise Lines, the Peace Corps, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, International Student Insurance, SafeSport, the University of Georgia, the Yoga Alliance, and Choate Rosemary Hall.

“RAINN works with clients each step of the way to effectively provide education about sexual violence and tools to respond to incidents in a way that facilitates healing and promotes safe and healthy communities,” Lake added.
